Griffin Valley Ranch
Based in Cochrane, Alberta, our home base is where preparation meets production.

Griffin Valley Ranch—once Canada’s largest dude ranch and home to over 800 horses—remains in the Griffin family to this day. It’s more than just a legacy; it’s the heart of our operation. Today, the ranch serves as the headquarters of True Grit Productions, where our horses are kept, our wagons and gear are housed, and our team prepares for life on set. It’s also where we host our hands-on cowboy camps.
Spanning 3,520 acres, the property offers sweeping meadows, rolling hills, winding creeks, forested trails, and cinematic views of the Rocky Mountains. It’s not just a working ranch—it’s a living, breathing set. Productions benefit from the authenticity of the land, the quiet seclusion of the location, and the rare convenience of having livestock, rolling stock, and tack all prepped and camera-ready, right on-site.
This is where stories begin before the script is even printed—where horses are trained, equipment is tested, and scenes come to life long before the first take.

Cowboy Camp

For actors who want to walk the walk, our Cowboy Camp offers hands-on training in riding, handling, and western lifestyle essentials. It’s just one more way we help productions feel—and look—authentic.
